לצדו של נהר הדנובה האגדי שוכן אחד משבילי האופניים המפורסמים ביותר באירופה. לא בכדי הפך המסלול הזה לכה מבוקש – והוא נחשב לאחד המסלולים הקלים, הנוחים והיפים שאפשר למצוא באירופה. ואם לא די בזה, הוא גם מתאים לרוכבים מכל הרמות: ממשפחות ורוכבים מתחילים עד רוכבים שמעוניינים לגמוא מרחקים בזמן קצר. בעודכם רוכבים על אופניים תתוודעו למקומות היפים ביותר שלאורך הנהר, מעיקול הדנובה המרשים, דרך עיירות יין, ערים עתיקות, מבצרים ועד כמובן אינספור כרמים ומטעים בעמק הווכאו הקסום. הטיול משלב טבע נפלא עם ערים ציוריות וקולינריה מפנקת, שאוסטריה כל כך ידועה בהם.

המסלול מתאים לרוכבים מכל הרמות, נדרשות רמת כושר גופני ומיומנות רכיבה בסיסית בלבד. הרכיבה במסלול מישורי, משולט היטב. רוב המסלול עובר בשבילי אופניים מסודרים וריקים או בכבישים קטנים ושקטים.

  • Arrival
    Pick up from the airport/Tel Aviv to the north Check your bicycles, while doing a short ride in beautiful Metula. Overnight: Metula
  • Day 1: from Mezudat Coach to Metula
    General information Total distance: 30 km Total ascent: 700 m Total descent: 650 m ​ Highlights: The Naftali Mountains, Tel Hai and Roaring Lion Statue, the Hatsbani River, the Dan River and the Banias, the Jordan River, Agamon Hula Park We will start the day with a delicious Israeli breakfast in Metula. We will then get into a car and drive to Metzudat Koach (Nabi Yusha fort). After a short explanation about the place and its history, we will start riding slowly, to get used to the bicycles until we reach Kedesh Naftali. At this historic site, we will see one of the most impressive remnants in Israel - a Roman Temple from the 2nd and 3rd centuries. We will continue along the Lebanon border, in-between the finest of apple plantations and vineyards that Israel has to offer, to the Naftali Mountains Scenic Road. On the way, you will enjoy the breathtaking landscape that descends from the Naftali Mountains to Kiryat Shmonah, overlooking the beautiful Hula Valley with its many ponds and green fields. We will connect to the Naftali Mountain single track and climb towards Honin Fortress, one of the most important Crusader fortresses, that were located in the Galilee. From there, we will continue to Kibbutz Misgav Am, seeing the southern Lebanese road on the way, and will finish our day in Metula at a family hotel that will host us for the night.   • Day 2: Along the Jordan from Metula to the Sea of Galilee
    General information Total distance: 65 km Total ascent: 440 m Total descent: 1.140 m Highlights: The Hula Reserve, Bnot Yaakov Bridge, Dodot Bridge, Jordan Natural Park, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee After breakfast we will pack our suitcases and leave them at the hotel. We'll get on our bicycles and start our journey south towards the Hula Valley. We will ride alongside the Hatsbani River, one of the three tributaries that feed into the Jordan River, enjoying the dense vegetation and natural shady alcoves that the area has to offer. We will meet up with another river, the Dan River, which begins at Tel Dan, the historical home of the Tribe of Dan, one of the twelve tribes of Biblical Israel. We will continue along the Jordan River, biking south to Agamon Hula where we will observe the abundance of birds and animals that have made the reserve their home. We will hear a brief explanation about the historic drainage of the Hula swamp lands in the 1950s. We will bike along the river’s western bank, cross the Bnot Yaakov Bridge and hear about the history of the site over the years. We will keep on riding south in a steep downhill, until we will meet the Sea of Galilee. Map Overnight: Sea of Galilee area
  • Day 3: Along the Sea of Galilee, from YMCA to Sha’ar HaGolan via Tiberias and the Yardenit"
    General information Total distance: 45 km Total ascent: 600 m Total descent: 600 m Highlights: Ein Nun Spring, the Arbel Cliffs, Tiberias, Mount Breniki, the Swiss Forest, Poriah Spring, the Yardenit Baptismal Site, the Southern Jordan River We will devote the third day to the western banks of the Sea of Galilee. In the morning, we will set out from the banana plantations near the Karei Deshe guest house, meeting up with Shvil Yisrael – the Israel Path that begins in the north. We will follow the trail to the Nun Spring for our first break of the day. Here we can enjoy a quick swim in the Nun’s refreshing waters. We will continue along the Sea of Galilee until we reach Tiberias, the capital city of the region, and we’ll bike on the promenade to the southern tip of the city. We will pass by the burial sites of righteous rabbis and the famous hot springs of Tiberias and ascend Mount Breniki to a height of 191 meters (623 feet) above sea level. Here we will be able to see the remains of a Byzantine church and mosque that most likely stood next to one another during various periods in history. We will continue biking on a beautiful natural trail via the Poriah Lodge to the Poriah Spring, a small spring, bubbling with fresh water all year long. We will then begin our descent via Kibbutz Kinneret to the Yardenit, a baptismal site frequented by Christians who wish to be baptized in the waters of the Jordan. We will end our day biking along the southern Jordan River untill Kibbutz Beit Zera. We will cross the Jordan to its eastern side and end the track. We will drive to Jerusalem through the Jordan Valley. Map Overnight: Kibbutz Shaar H-Golan
  • Day 4: The Many Faces of Jerusalem
    General information 4-5 hours of urban biking, including tours of the sites Highlights: Mount of Olives, Mount Scopus, Augustus Victoria, Mea Shearim neighborhood, the Old City, the Shuk, Mishkenot Sha’ananim, Montifiore’s Windmill, the old Jerusalem Railway Station, the Armon Hanatziv Promenade After breakfast, we will set out on a 4-5 hour bike ride to all of the sites unique to our amazing and holy city of Jerusalem. We will begin at the Armon Hanatziv Promenade and cycle down to Gei Ben Hinom and the neighborhood of Wadi Amoud. We will visit the gravesite of the prophet Zachariah and then ascend to a beautiful observation point overlooking the Temple Mount and the Old City from the Mount of Olives. We will reach the Augustus Victoria Complex and then climb up to an observation point that offers a 360 degree view of the Dead Sea, the Judean Desert, Western Jerusalem, and of course, the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We will continue our ride to Mount Scopus and after one last view of the desert landscape, we will bike to the Sheikh Jarakh area that borders on the edge of both the western and eastern parts of the city. We will visit the Garden Tomb and continue on towards Jaffa Gate, where we will enter the Old City through the Armenian Quarter. We will pass through the Jewish quarter towards the Kotel (the Western Wall) and exit via the Golden Gate beyond the city walls. We will continue riding alongside the walls of the city to Lions’ Gate and enter the Via Dolorosa. We will visit the Austrian Hospice and climb on top of the roof for another spectacular view of the Old City. We will exit via the Damascus Gate after walking our bikes through the bustling market. We will end the day with a pleasant ride to Mishkenot Sha’ananim and the Old Jerusalem Railway Station that has recently been restored and reopened as a cultural and entertainment center. Towards evening, we will head south and see quite quickly how the green landscapes of the center of Israel give way to the desert terrain of the Negev. Overnight: Jerusalem
  • Day 5: Mitzpeh Ramon
    General information Total distance: 25 km Total ascent: 150 m Total descent: 580 m Highlights: Sde Boker, Zin River, Ramon Crater We will start the day by climbing to The Scorpion's Pass and reach an breathtaking observation point, overlooking over the Small Crater. After taking a coffee break, we will continue to the colorful sands of the Big Crater. We will hear about the Bedouin settlements and the challenges faced by the Bedouin nomads upon their move to permanent residences. At noon we reach Sde Boker, where Israel's first prime minister is buried. We will go out for a couple of hours ride on a charming single track around Sde Boker, which will give us some understanding about riding in the desert. We will finish our day at the I-Bike hotel in Mizpe Ramon. Map Overnight: Mizpe Ramon
  • Day 6: Timna Park
    General information Total distance: Flexible, depending on the hour and the sunset Highlights: The “Minsarah” Stone Saw-Mill, Timna Park, Timna Lake, Solomon’s Pillars We will get an early start so as to enjoy the sunrise over the Ramon Crater, one of the most wondrous sights of all. After breakfast, we will continue riding south. We will stop at the bottom of the Ramon Crater to see the ancient saw-mill stones and will reach Timna Park in the early afternoon. The park offers a wide variety of cycling options. Everywhere we ride, we’ll be able to experience the magnificent sights and colors, rock formations and sands, and landscapes that make us feel like we’re on the moon! We will enjoy the cool waters of the Timna Lake and ride through Solomon’s Pillars on our way back to our hotel on Kibbutz Eilot. Map Overnight: Kibbutz Eilot.
  • Day 7: From Timna Park to Eilat & Departure
    General information Total distance: 45 km Total ascent: 600 m Total descent: 799 m Highlights: The Hidden Lake in Timna Park, Be’er Ora, Shaharot Canyon, Eilat, the Red Sea We will set out in the morning for a view of the Hidden Lake, a picturesque desert gem created from an underground water source. We will also ride past an abandoned copper mine. We will continue on the desert paths, enjoying magical scenes of colorful sands and rocks that are the most beautiful specimens of nature in all of Israel. In the early afternoon, we will reach Eilat, Israel’s most southern city, and take a swim in the Red Sea. Depends on your flight either from Eilat or Tel-Aviv we will organize the shuttle to pick you and your gear from hotel to airport to say goodbye and "SHALOM" from Israel.   • General Terms & Conditions
    Subject to the following Terms and Conditions The price will be adjusted according to the number of riders participating. (Dependent also on the minimum number of riders required on certain routes). Hotel prices are according to 34 stars (Israeli rating) Double occupancy basis including en- suite bathroom, T.V. and Air Conditioning. Upgrades are possible with prices adjusted accordingly Single room surcharge will be 20% of the regular hotel price for a double room. All hotel’s are on a HalfBoard basis (breakfast included) with a generous packed lunch provided by the hotel. On longer days, water and energy snacks will be provided along the route. The price includes the provision of well maintained, full suspension bikes. Front suspension (only) bikes are available for a lower price however we do not recommend this option. Electrically assisted bikes are also available at a higher cost. All transfers and road travel will be in an air conditioned minibus with a trailer providing essential maintenance equipment and bike transfer. The final destination is Eilat. Free road transportation back to Tel Aviv will be provided. Alternatively the customer may fly back to Tel Aviv at his own expense or book a return flight home from Ramon International Airport (Eilat) to a European destination. An extended tour from Eilat to the Kingdom of Jordan (Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum) can be arranged privately or can be arranged by us (prices on request).
